United States of America needs synonyms

I am routinely searching CLH for records from the United States for a databasing project. I have recently found that NY is posting records under "United States of America" as country, which is not among the synonyms of "United States", "US", or "USA". Can someon combine these synonyms for more complete searching? Thanks!
