Yes, it does, here: Hi.Events But I can't comment on it there, so that's why I created this issue.

Yes. In many situations, global payments are prohibitively expensive and/or illegal and/or too much admin. It would be great to be able to use a local payment provider. For example, I'm in South Africa, and would like to use https://payfast.io or https://www.snapscan.co.za/ .

We could use something like Omnipay: https://github.com/thephpleague/omnipay#payment-gateways . It supports MANY different payment providers, and the list keeps growing. This reduces the maintenance burden on Hi.Events.
