How do you validate a list (ul)?

I was attempting to validate if an ul contains at least one li, but the min and minlength properties does seem to have any effect.

I also tried to work with a data-validation-callback-callback but that didn't seem to have any effect either.

Im not sure I understand. JQBV is for forms. Why are you trying to validate the number of lis in an ul?

Yeah, maybe I'm approaching this the wrong way entirely.

In the dialog that I'm building, I keep a list of languages in an ul:

Languages can be added to a user or removed from him before the form is finally submitted (which is where my validation comes into play).

Hopefully this makes sense...
