Conference Call, call back button does not work #35632
Comments
It is the conference app that is not working. It takes care of the calling before you end up in jitsi. We have tested on several systems and it is not working as it should. |
Thanks for your response - are you sure about that? |
the conference manager does everything within the call and when both people have answered it will do a hand over to jitsi and open up a jitsi window. So the bug is in how the conference manager does things yes |
OK, thank you for clarifying that! |
Unfortunatly, nobody seems to care about the Jitsi-App repo - so where is the right place to address this issue? I think there are paid users, that also use Jitsi. It's hard to imagine, that they're dealing with the same problems. |
@friedrichkeydel the call problems are mostly fixed in 7.4.1 except this one. And all of them are on the conference call.. Everything regarding a call up to the point that both participants has answered a 1:1 call is in conference part of the app. If you run the latest desktop client it should work except when you press the call back button. One problem that was related to jitsi only was that sharing screen did not work. That was only happening in if you opened a meeting in the client instead of a browser. That is clarified and fixed in the latest client. (It will always open in the browser regardless what you set in the client) The proper subject for this bug should be conference call is not working. (I represent an integrator and reseller. We have a few client that uses jitsi in combination with rocketchat) |
Thanks again for this detailed answer! I'm using the latest client 4.3.0 - the screen sharing problem is fixed there indeed, which is awesome! I hope, that "the call problems are mostly fixed in 7.4.1 except this one." meant, that the issue with the calls, that could not be answered (RocketChat/Apps.Jitsi#37) is not yet fixed but will get fixed soon. Is that what you meant? This happens specifically in 1:1 calls! I'm sorry for mixing different issues here, that's why I did not really knew where to address them, after you wrote about the non functioning jitsi app! If there's anything I can do to support how to solve the problems, give me a sign. |
None of the issues you have are jitsi related. They are in the conference part of rocketchat. The problems you describe in the other ticket has been solved for our setups with 7.4.1. At least what i can see. If you still have 1:1 call issues with no popups open a separate ticket for that. Specify that 1:1 calls does not work. (You can close the one in the jitsi app) Rename this as well so it points to the right component "Conference Call, call back button does not work" or similar |
Thank you, I did that: #35652 |

Additional context
We're hosting Rocket.Chat and Jitsi on Docker both! The Integration worked correctly once. I allready tried deactivating and reinstalling the Jitsi app! After editing the Jitsi-App-Setting, the loading indicator of the save button circles forever (but "Jitsi settings saved succesfully" toast message appears! After reloading the settings page, everything seems to be saved!
