Checklist

  • I am able to reproduce the bug with the latest version given here: CLICK THIS LINK.
  • I made sure that there are no existing issues - open or closed - which I could contribute my information to.
  • I have read the FAQ and my problem isn't listed.
  • I have taken the time to fill in all the required details. I understand that the bug report will be dismissed otherwise.
  • This issue contains only one bug.
  • I have read and understood the contribution guidelines.

Affected version

0.27.6

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Click any video
  2. Error message pops up and no video or comments load
  3. If the option for Retry is available, click Retry enough times and video and comments will load.

Expected behavior

  1. Click any video
  2. Video plays without any errors.

Actual behavior

So I'm having a weird set of bugs. About half an hour before I'm writing this I finished one video without problems, but when I went and clicked another video I got hit with the "Sign in to confirm you're not a bot" error message, with only the Report and Open in Browser buttons available.

While I was checking to see if I was having the problem on other devices I figured I'd try one more time before making a bug report. When I clicked a video I got Report, Open in Browser, and Retry. If I click Retry enough times (maybe around 3-5 times), I can get the video to play.

And in the middle of writing this bug report, I went back to having the "Sign in..." error, to the "Could not parse website", back and forth.

Additional information

I dont use a VPN, which ive heard is one of the causes for the bot message. The error log in this post is the one I get when I'm able to click retry and load videos. I can't post the other error log I get for when the "Sign in to confirm..." error message In this same post I don't think.

Was sort of working for a day or so but then I started getting the same "Could not parse website" error again earlier today, and now its back to showing me the "Sign in to confirm that you're not a bot" error message. I'm adding the log here since I couldn't get it for the first post.

I've had similar issues and I noticed that switching to a different connection (for example cellular data) to open a video link gets it to load properly; once the video is loaded I can switch back to my home network and it keeps playing no problem. In other words it seems the issue is related to something newpipe does when first loading a video, not with streaming the video itself. Playing videos through my browser on the same connection works fine so I don't think my IP has been blacklisted or anything.

I'm having the same problem. Here's my report:

Content unavailable. NewPipe has been very glitchy lately and needs an update. Sign in to confirm that you're not a bot.

I'm now getting this same error on nearly every attempt I make to watch a video.

I've been fine up to now but this has just started for me. "Content unavailable" for everything. Grayjay is asking for login.

And now it's cured itself, on Grayjay too.

I have exactly the same problem.

It's gotten better and it's been a while since it's happened.
