Import IDA 9 .i64 into BN

Hello,
I noticed there is an acrticle that we could import IDA database into BN and save time to move function names. However, I found my i64 file seems not readable by BN. I am new to this platform, wonder if this is known issue, or I did not use it correctly. Thanks for your help!

After opening a binary, selecting Import Debug Info from External File (Analysis\Import Debug Info from External File...) allows you to apply IDB/TIL files after analysis has already started.

BN Logs:
[Default] Mapped view could not be created! Failed to get platform by name
[MainWindow] File does not contain debug info

IDA 9 is generally supported but it's hard to say what could be happening without more information. Is the IDB (and original file) something you can share using the portal upload script?

It looks like this is actually a pending change I thought had landed but hadn't. You can follow #6867 and when it's merged then the latest dev version will include support. Sorry about that! Note that you do have to have a paid version to be able to access dev builds, otherwise it will be available in free when 5.1 stable is released.

Thanks a lot! I have found the mail and completed the purchase. I removed previous messages as they included personal information.

On 5.1.7507-dev, I am still unable to import the i64 db, the console shows,
[MainWindow] File does not contain debug info
[IDB Import] Unable to parse IDB file: Unable to parse version 910

This was merged onto dev with this commit, the build number is 7508.

The build number which has the support is on the dev build, you can switch to the development build of Binary Ninja using the update dialog, more info is here: https://docs.binary.ninja/guide/index.html?h=deve#development-branch

Thanks! I have switched to 7508, download and restarted BN.
I used the method to open an executable from scratch and configured the path to the .i64 file.

Prior to opening the binary, selecting Open with Options, allows you to set the IDB file you want to import with the External Debug Info File setting (analysis.debugInfo.external).

After the analysis 1/2/3 are done, I was unable to find renamed functions. I noticed the console says.

[Analysis] Analysis update took 0.034 seconds
[IDB Import] Unable to translate the type at 0xa0e20c: Pointer: 
[IDB Import] Unable to convert type 0xa0e20c
[BinaryView] Adding 172 types from debug info
[BinaryView] Adding 27 data variables from debug info
[BinaryView] Applying 0 functions from debug info

After that, I restarted BN and tried this method with debug log enabled. The console shown identical notice.
