don't think it's possible with current openpilot, the qcams and qlogs get uploaded in loggerd, not athena.

need an issue on that side to refactor this into athena before we can pick this up

No, not on cell. The qcams only upload when you view them in connect or are on wifi

i'm not following your response, but i may have interpreted the issue wrong. is the desire for qcams to appear in the upload queue, or simply a toast or other message to appear saying that they will be uploaded?

We only upload qcam when you're on wifi or you view the route in connect (we make an API call to the device), would be nice to tell the user this so they know they will eventually be uploaded.

But need to not promise this on old routes where they're not available, so not too easy. First let's add a missing qcam message
