It would be useful to be able to specify working directory and inject LD_LIBRARY_PATH / LD_PRELOAD to debug more complex frameworks.

To specify working directory, I believe you can use the gdb command cd [directory] in the terminal at the bottom of gdbgui doc. If I were to add support for this, would you prefer to add it when launching from the command line, or something in the UI?

For environment variables, you can do set environment varname [=value] in the console as well. doc

Cool. I was mostly mentioning for the GUI aspect, but yes the terminal will do. Noticed a lot of the graphics debuggers for Linux finally figured out how important environment setup is -- eg steam runtime debugging.

Adding a comment just to add to this issue that conan for example sets these env variables in order for the compiled program to run, it would be useful if gdbgui respects these so that the programs built with conan work correctly:

PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH and DYLIB_LIBRARY_PATH (this one is for OSX builds but it's always set even on Linux).
