You are of course free to use Cursorless however you want, but if were talking about intent: Flash wasn't really meant to be used in a chain like that. It's basically a teaching or testing action and not something we expected people to use on a daily basis. Also the way itss implemented today is that every action specifies which source and that marks they want to set and the flash action (as most of the actions) sets an empty source. There isn't really a concept of keeping or not consuming a mark the way you suggest. This could of course be changed I just want to note that it's not how the pipeline is set up today. If you feel strongly about this please make an issue. |

.Am I right that using "flash" with "source" can always be seen as a preparation for the next step that should continue to build on the previous step, while using "flash" with a more specific mark is preparation for the next step without building on the previous step? If so, wouldn't it make sense for "flash"/"highlight" (more?) to stop consuming "source"? (Or, from my layman's perspective, even generally stop transforming "source" into "that"?)
