Is it possible to configure the backup to exclude certain tables?

Hi @antarr, you can add extra options for pg_data.
Just use PGDUMP_EXTRA_OPTS as environment.
For example PGDUMP_EXTRA_OPTS=--no-sync

In your case
PGDUMP_EXTRA_OPTS= --exclude-table-data=<table>
