Description
Review and publish ingest-related release notes for 9.0.2, 8.18.2, and 8.17.7.
👋 @alexandra5000 I got a head start on this since there were so many moving pieces (hopefully this will get easier the farther we get from the AsciiDoc to Markdown migration 😬). I assigned you to review, edit, and publish the release notes below. I'll check in on Monday to see you if you have any questions!

Fleet and Elastic Agent
The Fleet and Elastic Agent release notes for 9.x versions live in the elastic/docs-content repo and are written in Markdown. Right now the dev team generates release notes in the elastic/elastic-agent and elastic/fleet-server repos and outputs AsciiDoc, so you'll need to convert it to Markdown and move the content to elastic/docs-content:
- @colleenmcginnis: Copy the generated AsciiDoc content from:
- The
changelog/9.0.2.asciidoc
file in Changelog 9.0.2 fleet-server#4960 - The
changelog/9.0.2.asciidoc
file in Changelog for 9.0.2 elastic-agent#8231
- The
- @colleenmcginnis: Paste it into this Markdown file in the elastic/docs-content repo:
release-notes/fleet-elastic-agent/index.md
- @colleenmcginnis: Adjust the syntax to use docs-builder compliant Markdown
- @colleenmcginnis: Open a PR in the docs-content repo (Add Fleet and Elastic Agent 9.0.2 Release Notes docs-content#1483)
- @alexandra5000: Make any necessary copy edits
- @alexandra5000: Tag @\elastic/ingest-docs to review
Beats
The Beats release notes for 9.x versions live in the elastic/beats repo. Right now the release note automation still outputs AsciiDoc (this is being fixed but it's not ready yet), so you'll need to convert it to Markdown manually:
- @colleenmcginnis: Copy the content from the new "Beats version 9.0.2" in the
CHANGELOG.asciidoc
file in docs: Prepare Changelog for 9.0.2 beats#44465 - @colleenmcginnis: Paste it into the Markdown file
docs/release-notes/index.md
- @colleenmcginnis: Adjust the syntax to use docs-builder compliant Markdown
- @colleenmcginnis: Open a PR in the beats repo ([docs] Add Beats 9.0.2 Release Notes beats#44482)
- @alexandra5000: Make any necessary copy edits
- @alexandra5000: Tag @\elastic/ingest-docs to review

Fleet and Elastic Agent
The Fleet and Elastic Agent release notes for 8.x versions live in the elastic/ingest-docs repo, but the dev team generates release notes in the elastic/elastic-agent and elastic/fleet repos so you'll have to copy the content to the elastic/ingest-docs repo:
- @alexandra5000: Copy the generated AsciiDoc content from:
- [release] Changelog for 8.18.2 elastic-agent#8242
- [Release] Changelog for 8.18.2 fleet-server#4963 - @alexandra5000: Paste the content into the elastic/ingest-docs repo
- @alexandra5000: Open a PR in the ingest-docs repo (Add Fleet and Agent release notes 8.18.2 ingest-docs#1799)
- @alexandra5000: Make any necessary copy edits
- @alexandra5000: Tag @\elastic/ingest-docs to review
