Description

I've been enjoying the Files app for over a year now—it’s a really well-designed app with some incredibly useful features. That said, it’s currently crashing so frequently that I simply can’t use it anymore. I really hope this can be sorted out soon.

The app crashes constantly—sometimes every minute—regardless of what I'm doing. Crashes happen randomly, but I can almost always trigger one immediately by trying to drag-and-drop or cut and paste files between folders. It's making the app nearly unusable.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Open the Files app
  2. Navigate to any folder
  3. Try to drag a file to another folder OR use cut (Ctrl+X) and paste (Ctrl+V)
  4. App crashes instantly or shortly after

Files Version

Log File

Attached debug.log is from:
C:\Users\stell\AppData\Local\Packages\49306atecsolution.FilesUWP_et10x9a9vyk8t\LocalState

The log shows repeated warnings about pCloud Drive (mapped to P:) being inaccessible, and a few references to %localappdata%\Packages\FilesCommunity.Files_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState which doesn't exist on my system.

Also found a debug.server.log in the same folder, but it’s empty (0 bytes), so I didn’t include it.

Hopefully this helps pinpoint the issue. Let me know if there's any other info I can provide!
