Description

Hey there!

I am experiencing this issue for a month where I can't eject USB, HDD or SSD as long as the files app is running. And as the Files app is set as default, I have to exit the app from the taskbar and then eject it using the taskbar.

Also, there should be an option to eject the HDD or SSD like there is for USB.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Open the files app with your storage device plugged in.
  2. Make sure that your storage device isn't being used.
  3. Go to taskbar -> Click the hidden icons upward arrow -> There should be a USB sign indicating you have external storages plugged in.
  4. Right click on the USB and click Eject "Storage Name".
  5. A dialog box will appear from old File Explorer that the storage you want to eject is in use. (You can try the above steps several times).

To solve:

  1. Go to Hidden icons in taskbar like explained before
  2. Right click the Files app and click Exit
  3. Now try to eject the External storage like previously explained and everything will work fine
