Installer not working with VS 2015 Enterprise

Tried installing but get error: "This extension is not installable on any currently installed products."

Hi @jaxuk

It looks like the VS installer itself is crashing. There is a known bug in the installer that can be triggered in certain situations, and cause the VS extension installation cache to get corrupted.

• Is this the first time you're installing the extension on this machine?
• How are you installing the extension? Is it through the Extension and Updates inside VS; by downloading from the website and double clicking on the vsix package; or via the VS 2015 setup?
• Do you have (or had) VS 2017 installed? If yes, do you have the extension installed there?

Hi, I have tried to install it before without success on this machine in this version of VS (2015 Enterprise). I have tried to download the installer from the website and also install via the Extension and Updates inside VS. Both get the same result and error. Nope never had vs 2017... Thanks

I wonder if your extension cache for VS2015 is corrupt.

Are you able to install any other extensions to VS2015?

Can you try

• shutdown all instances of VS2015
• Backup first, then delete the c:\users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0\Extension*.cache file
• Retry installing the extension

I can install other extensions yes. I will try this shortly and let you know what happens.
