Jellyfin Server Version

Roku Client Version

3.0.0

Bug Description

Thanks for all the work you put into v3. I love the new update, especially the fact that media segments are now supported so I can use skip intro/outro. I have only one issue with the search functionality.

Previously in v2, I could press and hold the voice button from the home screen or in a library, and just say the name of the movie or show I wanted to watch. The app would pick that up and perform a search. Now if I try and do the same, roku reports that the app didn't respond and it searches the roku store instead.

The only way to use voice now is to navigate to a library, click on the search bar, and painfully say each letter individually. I would greatly appreciate it if the old functionality could be restored.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open the jellyfin-roku app.
  2. Hold the voice control button on the roku remote.
  3. Say the name of a show or movie in your library.
  4. Observe the roku store search instead of a jellyfin-roku app search.

Expected Behavior

I expect that the jellyfin-roku app would perform a search with the text I read out loud.

I've recreated the issue and have begun on a fix. In fact, I think we can make it even better than it was before.

Due to the scale of the fix, it'll be in 3.0.2.

Are you sure you could search from the home screen?

I installed the legacy channel, but wasn't able to recreate this functionality from the home screen. I also don't see code to support such capabilities.

@1hitsong I may have been mis-remembered the ability to use voice search directly from the home screen. I downloaded the legacy app just now, and I'm only able to use the voice search when directly in a library. If you can get search from library working again that would be good enough for me. Thank you!
