How to save gallery data too?

Let's say, I want to download the gallery data too (normally JSON) of a whole account, eg:

gallery-dl https://x.com/stone_toss/media

I recall I managed to do this, but I'm on a new machine and lost my configuration file.

Another question is that some past galleries (media) might have been downloaded, I want the non existing data of locally downloaded gallery to be downloaded.

You mean with using --write-metadata?

Or by setting up a post-processor for metadata.

Depends on what is actually non-existing here..
If you have the post IDs, use them to simply create the URLs then used as input for gallery-dl.
If you don't know which local files have what, might be best to re-download and then deduplicate the image files etc. locally.

I was assuming it would check if the file image is existing then skip. The fact is that it check and download the data, BUT skip the gallery if it is existing locally.

Adjust filename as needed.

This will write a .json file per Tweet, while --write-metadata would write per file.
--write-metadata in config is "postprocessors": "metadata", by the way.
