Extracting parent reddit user with child redgifs posts seemingly not adhering to overall skip abort config setting

My gallery-dl.conf contains (among other things)

I've noticed when checking my logs of a few different reddit user extractions that if they contain only submissions of redgifs links, all of their posts are checked (many hundreds, even though they're all skipped as being found in the archive), well past the limit of aborting after 10. When verifying this behavior on other reddit users, I noticed one which checked (and skipped as previously downloaded) 139 redgifs posts and then when it got to 1 reddit image (i.redd.it) post... it then aborted after checking the reddit image post.

My suspicion is that because I have also in my config

from the instructions in #827 (comment) because I wanted those redgifs files saved under the parent reddit user that this somehow causing the issue with the not skip:aborting if the file being checked is a redgifs submitted to reddit... is that possible? Or is it something entirely different?

Note also that I was previously assisted with the reddit to redgifs handoff in #5579 so I think that's okay, but I just wanted to check if it was something I was doing or if it was some kind of bug that I could help troubleshoot for. Should I actually have done the additional secondary advice of using "reddit>redgifs": instead of what I was doing? Or do I need some additional setting somewhere to get the child files to apply to the parent skip count?

Enable parent-skip for reddit.

Not in the options you posted.

I think you also need to use terminate instead of abort: "skip": "terminate:10"

Okay, yes switching from abort to terminate did it,

    "extractor":
    {
        "archive": "./gallery-dl-archive-file.sqlite3",
        "skip": "terminate:10"
    },

now stops a parent reddit user extraction after 10 redgifs attempts are found in the archive file.
