How to read the data of grabRegion?

I already read the documentation and try it out, but I still don't understand the value of the buffer that return by the function. For example, if I would like read each color of the pixel, is that possible to achieve it by using grabRegion? I know this can achieve by using captureRegion to snap and store as the file format that we want and then read it, but I wonder can I do same thing with grabRegion?
