Enabling Github Copilot for .qmd Files (VSCode)

Description

It seems that at the time of writing, Github Copilot doesn't offer code suggestions inside a Python block within a .qmd file. In other words, it doesn't support Quarto's .qmd file extension.

Is there a way to enable Github Copilot for qmd files?

My alternative is to use .py, whose rendering is supported starting Quarto CLI 1.4.

I just wondered if there is a way to use Copilot directly on .qmd files.

There is nothing that can be done on Quarto side.
Copilot is a GitHub service/tools.

Note that I have Copilot suggestion in Quarto documents out of the box.

Your reply made me revisit this issue, and I noticed that I can turn on Copilot for Quarto following the two steps in depicted the image below. (A) click the Copilot icon (bottom right), and (B) "enable Copilot for 'quarto' " in the menu. Thank you !

@Jelles you should look at how to activate in RStudio IDE: https://docs.posit.co/ide/user/ide/guide/tools/copilot.html

If it does not work, ask on their repo. The IDE does the integration directly, the quarto extension for VScode is not used there.
