Pre-submit Checks

Describe the solution you'd like?

MCP is an open protocol that standardizes how applications provide context to LLMs. Think of MCP like a USB-C port for AI applications. Just as USB-C provides a standardized way to connect your devices to various peripherals and accessories, MCP provides a standardized way to connect AI models to different data sources and tools.

Hi all! I'm Janum - I work on the product team at Warp. We're actively working on designing and shipping MCP, and I'd love to chat about what people are hoping to use MCP in Warp for, so we can build what's most useful for you.

Please reach out to me at [email protected] if you're willing to chat!

It seems iTerm2 already works well with MCP, you can check for a reference. Can't wait to see Warp's progress.

Not sure whether warp (or iTerm2) MCP makes sense... What would make sense is implementing MCP client into Warp so that it can use tools exposed via MCP servers.

@TreeMan360 Cursor can already execute shell commands, what would be the use for connecting it to warp terminal?

I am interested in the ability to warp AI using other MCP tools (i.e., being an MCP client).
I don't need warp as an MCP server.
