Test Device Apple ID

All iOS test devices should be logged into the Test Device Apple ID ([email protected] // Sidebench!1) to access test builds.

  • [email protected] is a Google group that all Product Managers and TA's have been added to. This means the team will receive any email sent to [email protected]
  • [email protected] is not an email account so you are not able to log in via Gmail
  • It is used for all Sidebench iOS test devices

How can I set up [email protected] on an iOS test device?

  1. Navigate to Settings
  2. Log into the [email protected] Apple ID ([email protected] // Sidebench!1)
  3. Select the Two Factor Authentication option to have a code texted to a phone number
  4. Enter the Two Factor Authentication code that was sent to the #office-phone Slack channel

How can I access test builds on Testflight using [email protected]?

  • Once the device is logged into the [email protected] Apple ID and you've installed TestFlight, follow the steps below:
  1. Log into your Sidebench App Store Connect account
  2. Select "Users and Access" a. If [email protected] has already been added to your Apple Store Connect account, skip to step #
  3. Select the (+) icon and add [email protected] as a new user a. Name "Test Device," email "[email protected]," role "Admin" and access to whichever apps you need
  4. You should have received a "You've been invited to App Store Connect" via email
  5. Activate the account through this email which will prompt you to log into App Store Connect with [email protected] ([email protected] // Sidebench!1) a. Two Factor Authentication codes are sent to the #voicemails Slack channel b. You'll need to select "Didn't get a verification code?" and choose Text Me if a code is not sent c. Enter the verification code and [email protected] should now be activated
  6. Navigate back to the App Store Connect homepage on your account (do not stay in Test Devices account) and select "My Apps"
  7. Select the app you want to install on the test device
  8. Navigate to the "TestFlight" tab
  9. Select "App Store Connect Users" under Testers & Groups on the left hand bar Select the (+) icon and you should see [email protected] listed
  10. Check off [email protected] and select "Add" and then "Done"
  11. Select "All Testers" under Testers & Groups on the left hand bar
  12. You should have received a "[Company Name] has invited you to test "[App Name] a. You can select "View in TestFlight" on a laptop and enter the redeem code in the TestFlight app or select "View in TestFlight" on the test device to automatically add it to TestFlight
  13. You're ready to test!
