  • Visualizing wealth by neighborhood; similar to the images here: http://jubileefarm.blogspot.com/2008/04/todays-world.html
  • GPS accurate maps of all public trails (hiking, biking, walking, etc) - find the fastest way to walk or bike to work - promote healthy living
  • Votes by elected official
  • What neighborhood has increased/decreased in value the most
  • Which neighborhoods send kids to public vs private schools
  • Which neighborhoods have jobs inside the city vs outside the city
  • Which neighborhoods are food deserts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_desert)
  • What's the most walkable neighborhood (defined by percentage of roadways that have sidewalks)
  • Bumpiest roads in Richmond?
  • Active or planned utility work (or anything that tears up the road, could help with commute planning)?
  • Age of road surface (how long has it been since each road segment was resurfaced)
  • Vacant buildings per neighborhood
  • Rental properties per neighborhood
  • College students per neighborhood
  • Registered voters per neighborhood
  • Density per neighborhood
  • Maintenance cost per neighborhood (how much does it cost to keep the grass cut, the streets clean, the snow plowed, etc...)
  • Electricity bill per neighborhood (how much does it cost the city to power street lights and traffic signals)
  • "Another use I make of assessment data is to make sure that the bank that holds my mortgage/escrow on my house is paying the property tax on my house. I found out that they took money out of my escrow account a good 3 months ago, but the assessor's website didn't reflect a payment until just a week ago (and it's due at the end of the month). If this data was more easily accessible, someone could set up a property tax monitoring / reminder service to help people so that they don't miss any property tax payments
