COMPLETES WEBEX-406371

This pull request addresses

Refactoring StatsAnalyzer from webrtc-media-core: https://sqbu-github.cisco.com/WebExSquared/webrtc-media-core/pull/317

by making the following changes

Making the appropriate changes to use the new StatsAnalyzer code in webrtc-media-core. From an SDK perspective, this is mostly just upgrading the webrtc-media-core version, but there are a few other changes as well:

  • removing old constants that were once used when StatsAnalyzer still lived in the SDK
  • only overwriting the peer reflexive IP if it is missing from the MQE
  • changing the way we get the network type from StatsAnalyzer

Change Type

  • Bug fix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue)
  • New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality)
  • Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing functionality to change)
  • Documentation update
  • Tooling change
  • Internal code refactor

The following scenarios were tested

All tests were done on the webrtc-media-core level using the SDK sample app. Tests were done on all browsers on both Windows and Mac, both individually and in a bug bash setting with the WCME team. See https://confluence-eng-gpk2.cisco.com/conf/display/webexmedia/StatsAnalyzer+Refactor+Test+Matrix for full test results.

I certified that

  • I have read and followed contributing guidelines

  • I discussed changes with code owners prior to submitting this pull request

  • I have not skipped any automated checks

  • All existing and new tests passed

  • I have updated the documentation accordingly

Make sure to have followed the contributing guidelines before submitting.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The changes update the @webex/internal-media-core dependency from version 2.15.0 to 2.16.0 in the @webex/media-helpers, @webex/plugin-meetings, and @webex/calling packages. Within @webex/plugin-meetings, three exported constants (NETWORK_TYPE, STATS, and MQA_STATS) are removed from the constants.ts file. In the meeting/index.ts file, the logic handling media quality analytics events is revised: references to the removed constants are eliminated, the event parameter is renamed, IP anonymization logic is updated, and the network type is now retrieved from the stats analyzer. No changes are made to exported or public entity declarations.

There are 3 ways to chat with CodeRabbit:

  • Review comments: Directly reply to a review comment made by CodeRabbit. Example:
    • I pushed a fix in commit <commit_id>, please review it.
    • Explain this complex logic.
    • Open a follow-up GitHub issue for this discussion.
  • Files and specific lines of code (under the "Files changed" tab): Tag @coderabbitai in a new review comment at the desired location with your query. Examples:
    • @coderabbitai explain this code block.
    • @coderabbitai modularize this function.
  • PR comments: Tag @coderabbitai in a new PR comment to ask questions about the PR branch. For the best results, please provide a very specific query, as very limited context is provided in this mode. Examples:
    • @coderabbitai gather interesting stats about this repository and render them as a table. Additionally, render a pie chart showing the language distribution in the codebase.
    • @coderabbitai read src/utils.ts and explain its main purpose.
    • @coderabbitai read the files in the src/scheduler package and generate a class diagram using mermaid and a README in the markdown format.
    • @coderabbitai help me debug CodeRabbit configuration file.

Need help? Create a ticket on our support page for assistance with any issues or questions.

Note: Be mindful of the bot's finite context window. It's strongly recommended to break down tasks such as reading entire modules into smaller chunks. For a focused discussion, use review comments to chat about specific files and their changes, instead of using the PR comments.

CodeRabbit Commands (Invoked using PR comments)

  • @coderabbitai pause to pause the reviews on a PR.
  • @coderabbitai resume to resume the paused reviews.
  • @coderabbitai review to trigger an incremental review. This is useful when automatic reviews are disabled for the repository.
